There has been a shift in the way we now communicate. From this, I can explore the notion of the separate physical space between the sitter and the painter through video calls, rather than the usual shared space between the artist and its subject. Through this new means of communication we now have access to people’s person spaces that we would not usually see which is strange yet interesting. I am embracing the struggles that I face making work from on online platform such as poor-quality video calls and frozen imagery. However, I see this as only adding to the pieces as it represents what we have lost from face to face contact.
