A Reaction to Autonomy

A lightweight contemporary sports car

For my Independent Inquiry I researched how autonomous technology is having a growing presence in society. I proposed this advanced technology could have a negative impact on our lives. I wanted to design a vehicle that offered freedom from autonomy. This narrative was behind my decision to design a lightweight sports car that could provide an emotionally engaging experience for the user.

Primarily I used this project to experiment with exterior form. In my previous year of study, it became apparent I was not familiar with the relationship proportions have on the appearance/impression of a vehicle. This is another reason why I wanted to design a sports car, because there is a variety of different vehicle package layouts I could experiment with.
