I am a young creative specialising in Surface Pattern Design – Print for Textiles. Being at Swansea College of Art has allowed me to become a highly confident Photoshop user and painter, amongst all the other skills I’ve obtained. I particularly enjoy illustrating imagery for my prints with gouache or posca pens. I then scan and manipulate my paintings digitally using Adobe programmes. This allows me to create interesting and intricate compositions of the imagery, to then be digitally or hand printed onto fabric.
My Final Major Project is called Nostalgia Market. It is primarily based on East London markets, Columbia Road Flower Market and Brick Lane, both of which are rife with gorgeous materials and inspiration to draw from especially on a Sunday. I have a personal connection with these places having spent the first two years of university in that area of London, before moving home to re-join Swansea College of Art for my second and third year. Most weekends I found myself visiting the markets and found great joy conversing with strangers finding common ground in the love for these places.
