I started making samples in the studios involving smocking and developing this method by using back stitch to hold to creased edges together. I attended workshops in fabric making to develop a personal approach to the making. I gathered fabrics and threads to inform the colour palette and selected processes that I was both familiar with (crochet) and less familiar with (cut work) as potential methods to use in the work. The work is largely process driven involving textile techniques such as heat press, weaving and crochet. I have started to consider a range of materials and processes.
